A Galveston County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision on West Parkwood Avenue in Friendswood.

Wreck1Mary Lauzon filed a lawsuit Nov. 11, 2014, in Galveston County District Court against Demetria Rideau, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Lauzon was driving in slow-moving traffic in the outside lane of West Parkwood Avenue approaching its intersection with Falcon Ridge Boulevard in Friendswood on Nov. 19, 2012, when Rideau struck the rear of the plaintiff’s vehicle. The complaint states that the impact pushed Lauzon’s vehicle forward, causing it to collide with the car in front of her. Lauzon says she sustained serious injuries, and Rideau is accused of negligence for failing to control her speed.

Lauzon seeks more than $200,000 in damages, medical expenses, interest and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney E.A. “Trey” Apffel III of Apffel Law Firm in League City.

Galveston County District Court case number: CV-0073101.
